DETROIT SOUND CONSERVANCY

Detroit Sound Conservancy

Founded in 2012, the Detroit Sound Conservancy (DSC) is redefining music culture for Detroit's future. They celebrate sounds, tell stories, build memories, and impact neighborhoods. They need your help to keep their collections safe and their programming active. When you purchase one of their t-shirts via One Custom City you help them:

  • preserve dozens of artifacts, hundreds of records, thousands of documents, and a growing library of digital files, including oral histories;
  • keep a roof and digital cloud above their heads;
  • maintain and expand their programming, including their successful Detroit Sound Conference; and
  • focus on their mission not their finances.

What you get:

  • to support Detroit music heritage preservation in style!

Music critic and journalist Dan Sicko wrote the first book-length overview of Detroit techno music in 1999, called "Techno Rebels." When he died in 2011, Sicko left a hole in both his family’s hearts and the Detroit musical community at large. The "Detroit Renegade" tee celebrates Sicko's legacy while providing resources for an annual scholarship to aspiring college journalists.
